This exciting new partnership will see the Torbay Story logo taking pride of place on United’s away strip next term, with our magnificent Bay thus getting unparalleled attention from all over the south of England, as Gary Johnson’s side go on their travels to take on their National League South rivals throughout the course of the 2023/24 campaign.
Torbay Story was created two years ago to promote the forward-thinking, positive and compelling story of the three wonderful towns within the Bay – Torquay, Paignton and Brixham.
During that time, residents, partners, and local businesses have been uniting together to not only highlight some of the gems that our glorious locality already possesses - but also promote the unique potential of the area, with the ultimate aim of attracting investment and funding to create a more prosperous Torbay.
The local community remains at the very heart of Torbay Story though, and residents are actively encouraged to play their own part in promoting our stunning Bay by discovering more here.
With Torquay United AFC proud to champion the cause of working together to build a better Bay, this new link-up sees two key players of the Torbay landscape sharing an identical ethos, as well as a firm commitment towards creating more opportunities within the Torbay area, and a brighter future for both the local community and its residents.
Jim Parker, the Chair of the Torbay Place Leadership Board, said:
“Torbay Story is a fresh new approach for the Bay and something we can all work together on by promoting and telling everyone about what we have to offer. Everyone, not just those from the prominent organisations and businesses, have an important role in this. Working together to build on the successes, the Partnership knows the need for us to look outwards and think bigger, as we seek to bring prosperity for all those who live and work here.
“The partnership and I have listened to what people think about our place, the good and the bad, and this shared story highlights Torbay’s distinctiveness and character. We now have a clear, forward-looking, and vitally shared story for Torbay and each of the towns, that will provide focus for the Bay’s development and promotion.
"It is brilliant to be able to literally team up with United and promote the Bay in a unique way. Fingers crossed this unusual way of promoting the resort will see the club doing just that - and winning promotion themselves this coming season."
Meanwhile, TUAFC CEO George Edwards spoke of the key benefits of promoting the Torbay Story cause beyond the Bay itself.
